This textbook introduces the reader to the foundations of Chinese state philosophy and political history, as well as to the one-party state's basic institutional patterns and its recent transformations. It conducts a theory-based analysis of selected policy areas, while also discussing theories and concepts developed by leading Chinese political scientists.
